iPhone is the revolutionary new (2007) cell phone from Apple. It has cool features like multi-finger touch screen, a beautiful high definition screen and web browsing that actually works on a cell phone screen.

The iPhone hardware is spectacular! There is a big, beautiful, multi-touch screen - it detects more than one finger touching the screen at the same time. You scroll thru long lists with a flick of your finger. You zoom into a picture by spreading two fingers and zoom out of a picture by pinching two fingers together. The iPhone software makes the hardware really shine. Whatever you're doing - making a call, surfing the net, listening to music - you just focus on what you want. The software apps make it easy to find phone numbers, websites and favorite tunes. Most of the time you don't even think of the software - it just works. There are over a dozen cool apps built into the iPhone when you buy it.

And there is more software coming. Apple is releasing a continuous stream of upgrades to the original software. So even after you buy your iPhone it will continue to get better - not just fixes but new features and new applications.

Even more third party software is coming in 2008. Apple will release an iPhone software application program and it will be available soon. After that, you can buy Apple-approved, third party applications for your iPhone. The February announcement is called the Software Development Kit (SDK). Many software developers are excited and looking forward to developing new software for this revolutionary phone. When combined with the iPhone's rapidly increasing market share, developers will make a good living by developing applications for the iPhone. The iPhone sold 4 Million units (as of Jan, 2008) and is well on track to beating Apple's goal of selling a total of 10 million by the end of 2008. It is currently being sold in the United States, England, Germany and France. Developers are happy to see many units of the same phone. That means they can sell many copies of their software and it will work the same on every one of those phones. So the customers (you) are happy because it works and the developer is happy because they don't have to do any extra work.
